IN MEMORY OF C.C. "Sonny" CABINESS

August 13th, 1924- September 27, 2008

He was born on August 13, 1924, graduated from Jeff Davis High School, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He began his sixty-four year career in the oil and gas business working for the legendary "Silver Dollar" Jim West. He then worked for Amoco Production Company for thirty five years. After being retired for two whole days, Sonny opened his own oil & gas consulting business, Three Sees, which he operated until his death at the age of 84.

Sonny loved hunting , golf, fishing, cooking, and music. His love for baseball and his Houston pride made him a natural Colt 45's fan, a fixture at the Astrodome and Minute Maid Park, and Astros Spring Training.

Sonny is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Brewer Cabiness and his grandson, Cameron Michael Powers. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Barnes, Peggy Shawn Powers, and Rebecca Lynch; sons-in-law Gary Barnes, Rick Powers, and Richard Lynch; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

So many knew and loved this incredibly special man with the big heart. He was always known as a man of his word.
