He was born June 15, 1924 in Oil City, Louisiana.
Mr. Houston was employed at Marathon Oil Company and Consolidated National Gas as an oil scout for almost 50
years in Lafayette, Louisiana, and was President (Bull Scout) of the Louisiana Offshore Oil Scouts' Association,
associated with the Southwest Louisiana Oil Scouts' Association, a member of the international Oil Scouts' Association,
and was a high school football official for many years, and very involved with programs and service at First United Methodist Church in Lafayette.
He graduated from Carlisle High School and Texas A&M University, and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War.
After his retirement in 2000, he and his wife moved to Tyler. He was an active member of Marvin United Methodist Church,
and spent many hours as a volunteer with Hospice of East Texas.
The family is appreciative of all the support and love expressed by the staff and volunteers at Hospice for their care of Mr. Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Thomas Houston and Annie Ethel Burkhalter Houston of Carlisle,
and his brother Rex Houston of Henderson, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Keith Houston; daughters, Colleen Houston Andrus, of Conifer, Colorado, and Lisa Houston Gibson, of Lake Jackson, Texas; brothers, Jack and Bob Houston; sister, Paula Houston Robinson; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
